I would like to post another single mom blog that I found on the web. I would like to feature blogs whose authors are from all religious and cultural backgrounds.
As a single mother, I generally have incredibly hectic summers. I provide childcare, so I work five or six days a week from home. We hang out at the playground, walk, talk, play games, do crafts, cook and so much more. I may work until four or five.
I remember when my children were young and I had to leave them with a babysitter to go to work. I hated working outside of the home back then, because I believed then (and still do) that at least one parent should be at home with the children and taking care of everyday tasks.
I recently took on a babysitting job outside the home. For many years, I have been babysitting in my own home, but I am now actually trying to get of of that type of career. I am working at the home of the mother whom I babysit for.
It is important to discuss what the single mother can be doing when her children are either in bed for the evening or gone. I have posts that talk about relaxing while your children are gone, but usually single mothers have things to that we must get done.
Mornings can be a very hectic time for the single mother. There is no help in getting yourself and/or your children out the door. This can make mornings very stressful for your family, whether you work outside the home or not.
In truth, I have hesitated to bring this subject up here. “Why?” You may ask. “Isn’t this a single mom blog?” Yes, yes it is. But I still hesitated.
Do you ever have problems keeping up with everything that you have to do? Does it sometimes feel like life would be easier if you could hand over some of your responsibilities to someone else?
On December 30th, 2008, I blogged about my diagnosis of depression. It has been two weeks since I began taking the medication that I was prescribed, and they do seem to be kicking in. Though it takes about four weeks to feel the full effect, I am feeling a bit better.
Okay, so you have chosen the childcare situation that fits in with your family. Or maybe just the one that is available or affordable.
