My older daughter, Skye (19), grew up without benefit of her father’s presence in her life. She met him only once, when she was 18 months old. He rejected her then, and again when she was about six.

Letting go is not always easy, especially when it is our children that we are supposed to let go of. Recent events have shown me that, sometimes, things go wrong in our letting go plans.

My adult child is only nineteen, so I am still learning the things that we can do together. So far, she seems to like the same things that she did just a couple of years ago.
These are the things that Skye and I do together when she comes downstate to visit:

Go out to eat.
Shop.
Take walks.
