Single Moms can go to College

The government will help you to further your education, in the form of scholarships, grants and/loans.

Have you considered going back to school. Maybe you were laid off, or the recession is affecting you adversely. Maybe you want to show your children how important a good education is. Or, maybe you just want to do something for yourself.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Three important people in my life graduated from college this past spring. One is a single mom, one was married and is now going through a divorce, and the other was single but married a few years back.

What did they all have in common? They went to college as adults, having been out of school many years before deciding to further their education. Go them! I was a proud sister and best friend, that is for sure.

  • Sister # 1 went for Psychology. She can still go back to get further with that.
  • Sister # 2 went for accounting.
  • My best friend went for social services. She is currently working in activities with the elderly, and at the homeless shelter. She loves helping people.

They could not have accomplished this feat with out scholarships and such. So I would like for you to check out a couple of links if you are considering going back to school.

  2. USA.gov - Financial Aid
