If you own your home and need extra cash, you may be able to take in a roommate. This can be difficult, but may be necessary for some people. If you are considering this, then why not also consider some points of interest:
- Would you rather have a male or female roommate? I have two daughters, and I would likely rather have a single woman living with me.
- Will you request a person who does not drink, smoke and/or do illegal drugs?
- Can you accommodate someone with a disability?
- Do you prefer an older person? A college student?
- How much would be a fair rent?
- Will you allow them refrigerator, freezer, and cupboard space?
- How about hot plates, microwaves, coffee makers and such in their room?
- An air conditioner or fans?
- What about the bathroom? Will they have their own.
Are there any other questions that should be considered? Please let us know in the comments.
Thank you,
Shannon
