Single Moms Taking in Borders

If you own your home and need extra cash, you may be able to take in a roommate. This can be difficult, but may be necessary for some people. If you are considering this, then why not also consider some points of interest:

  • Would you rather have a male or female roommate? I have two daughters, and I would likely rather have a single woman living with me.
  • Will you request a person who does not drink, smoke and/or do illegal drugs?
  • Can you accommodate someone with a disability?
  • Do you prefer an older person? A college student?
  • How much would be a fair rent?
  • Will you allow them refrigerator, freezer, and cupboard space?
  • How about hot plates, microwaves, coffee makers and such in their room?
  • An air conditioner or fans?
  • What about the bathroom? Will they have their own.

Are there any other questions that should be considered? Please let us know in the comments.

Thank you,

Shannon
