As A Single Mom, What Do You Like About Being Alone?

Being a single mother certainly has its advantages. Sometimes it may not seem that this is the case, but it is. You just have to sit down and think about it for a while, and you will come up with a pros list that may look like mine, or may look quite different.

Here is my Pros List for Single Momhood:

  1. I have plenty of alone time, which is good because I am a bit of a loner. Though, many times, this does not happen until the evening hours, I have time to myself which I need.
  2. I was able to raise my daughters how I saw fit, with no interference from someone who may not have been as open-minded as I am.
  3. My daughters were able to learn about and choose their own religions.
  4. I learned how to be independent.
  5. I learned that I do not need a man to make me happy. I can be happy with or without someone.
  6. I never had to get a divorce, and drag my children through all of that.
  7. There was no father in the home to disagree with my choice to homeschool my daughters.
  8. I can come and go as I please, and I don’t have to answer to anyone.

Those are the major pros of my single motherhood. What are yours?
