Would you like to take a vacation with your children, but are unsure if you can afford to? I have a solution for this problem:
Rent a cottage with one or more other single mom families.
A nice cottage on the coast or in the woods is a great place to vacation. We rented one for a long weekend when the girls were young. There was a kitchen, a living area, a loft with beds, a bedroom with a full size bed, and a bedroom with two twin size beds, as well as a bathroom.
It was a nice place, right near the ocean. A girlfriend of mine went with me, and we split the costs. This made the trip more affordable.
We made sure that we packed everything that we would need. We went to the grocery store in our town before leaving, so that we could save money on food costs.
While you are vacationing, you do not have to spend a lot of money. You can swim for free. You can hike and picnic. You can also visit area flea markets for bargains.
It is possible to take affordable vacations as a single mom family.
Tell us about your affordable vacations.
