Do Children of Single Moms need Men in Their Lives?

This is a good question, and it does need to be answered. I am sure that it is possible to raise a child with no male mentor-ship, but I chose not to do this.

On occasion, I had a boyfriend. This guy would be like a part of the family. Not necessarily by living in our homw, but by being there.  I also have a younger brother who cares deeply for my daughters, and a step father who is a very strong role model for them. These two men have always been there for my daughters. I appreciate this, and they have been rewarded by being able to spend time with two great girls. They have watched them grow from infancy into teenagers and young adults.

I. personally, believe that it is important for children to have a male role model in their lives. This gives them, as well as the single mom, a new perspective in certain situations. This new perspective can be very helpful.

So, single moms, let your children visit often with the positive male role models in their lives.
