There is absolutely nothing wrong with making the choice to be a single mother. This may be done because the father chooses not to be in the picture, because he is not allowed to be, or because you have decided to become a single parent by donor insemination. Any way you  look at it, you have made an important choice.

Here are some tips for your consideration:

  1. Make sure that you have a support system set up. This may be friends, family, or even an online support group.
  2. Be sure to make time for yourself. You are important, and you need to be rested. It is not always easy being a single mother.
  3. Have a cleaning schedule in place, and try to stick with it. You will not be having anyone there to help you, so you will have to be sure to get to everything.
  4. Choose a hobby, and spend some time each week on it.
  5. Keep your friendships going, even of you only meet up with people once a month.

If you have any tips, please share them with us in the comments.
