Quick Tips for the Single Mom: Keeping Our Homes

Yup! You knew this was coming. It’s true…keeping up with daily household tasks really is important.

I am trying to streamline things. Here are my best tips:

1. Make you own laundry detergent.

2. Use vinegar, homemade laundry detergent, dish detergent, baking/washing soda and salt for all of your cleaning needs. It’s much cheaper, and much healthier for you, your children and your pets. Do something good for your family.

3. Perform a 15 minute cleanup with your children each day. They do their rooms and taking of whatever is theirs that is lying around the house. You do these: Make bed, sweep, vacuum, clean bathroom quickly, throw in a load of laundry, do a general pick up in all rooms but your children’s.

4. Delegate. Children learn responsibility by doing chores.

Do you have any tips in this area?
