Quick Tips for Single Moms: Children in School

Getting children out of bed and off to school on time can be a challenge.

1. One of the best tips that I have is to be very cheery when you wake them up each morning. This will help them to wake up easier and in a better mood.

2. A good breakfast is necessary. How about a slice of toast with peanut butter, a piece of fruit, yogurt and an 1/2 cup of juice.

3. Walk with your children to the bus stop if you have the time. Get up earlier in the morning yourself if necessary.

4. Pack lunches, lay out clothes, and get back packs and other necessities ready the night before.

5. Have a healthy snack prepared for you and your children to enjoy when they get home. This is a great time to find out what happened with their day, and to sign any papers.

6. Homework and chores before play.

Do you have any tips for single moms with school age children?
