It is sometimes hard to keep in touch with my 19 year old daughter Skye. She lives a few hours a way, and I do not get to see her often. I do try to keep the lines of communication open with her as much as possible, though.

Here are some tips:

1. Text. Yes, I hate to text. However, it is what young adults and teens are doing to stay in touch these days.

2. Instant Message. Skye and I do this often. Almost daily at times.

3. Hold a phone conversation whenever you can.

4. Send a card or a letter, or even a care package.

Do you have any tips for staying in touch with adult children who do not live nearby?

Shannon
