Leaving children in daycare can really bum a person out, but some people just have to do it. As a childcare provider, I would like to offer up a few tips for the single mom on the subject of childcare.
1. Make sure your childcare provider can always contact you in case of an emergency.
2. Your childcare provider has certain rules that children must follow. Please be sure that your children understand and follow these rules.
3. Please give your childcare provider notice when you will not need their services, before the time arrives. You should have your schedule with everyone already set by the Thursday before the next week begins. Children’s fathers, grandparents and other important people will get used to this.
4. Pick children up on time, not after you run errands. Your childcare provider’s time is very valuable.
5. Pay your childcare provider on time. Most providers will allow you a few extra minutes to stop at the bank on your way home on pay day. Ask first.
Do you have any other tips?
