Being a stay-at-home mom is a wonderful experience, but it is not always a viable one for a single mother. In order for this to work, you must have money to live off. How you go about getting the money to do this is up to you, but it may not be easy.

Maybe you invested heavily when you were young, and you can live off that income for a while. Maybe you have inherited a good amount of money that enables you to stay home. Whatever the case may be, you are thinking about becoming a stay-at-home mother.

Here are some of the pros and the cons that you should take into consideration:

Pros:

  • You will get to be at home with your children, making it easier to teach them good morals and values and making it easier to spend more time with them.
  • Your children will benefit from the closeness that they will feel from you, as well as from a better schedule that matches your new lifestyle.
  • You will enjoy taking your children places, and will be better equipped to get them to and from all of their activities.
  • You will be home more, so your house can be cleaner.

Cons:

  • You are always with your children, and you will rarely have a break. There will hardly be any downtime for you.
  • Your bills may be higher because you are in the home more.
  • You may become bored. It’s possible.
  • You may find that you are not happy at home because you feel the need to be around adults more.

What pros and cons have you encounter with this situation?
