Now that you are used to having that precious little baby at home, you may be looking at ways to keep the mother and baby bond strong. Single mothers. in particular, may be looking into ideas.
Why? Because they may have to leave their babies to go to work or school, and they want to keep the bond strong while they are away.
Here are some great things to do with your baby:
- I have almost always had very long hair. My daughters, as infants, used to love it when I would lay them down on the floor and put my face down close to theirs. I would let my hair tickle their faces, and they would laugh so hard. I love baby laughs.
- After bathing your baby each evening, why not give him or her a massage while putting on the lotion. Babies love massages. I used to do this with Zowie, and she loved it. Check out ivillage.com for more information on this.
- Babies love to watch facial expressions. While talking to your baby, make sure you are close enough to his/her face for him/her to watch your face and see the expressions change.
- Rock your baby. You can rock him/her while watching television. Or while listening to the radio. Babies love to hear you sing to them, even if you can’t sing. You can also read to your baby while rocking. They love to hear the sound of your voice, and you will be instilling a love for reading in them that they will need throughout their lives.
- Babies love to be held while you slow dance to music.
These are wonderful ways for you to keep your bond strong with your baby.
