Single Mom Helpers: Housekeepers

Single mom helpers are a great idea. When I decide to have more children, I would like to have someone help me with housekeeping part-time. I already have someone in mind. She is a teenager, and would love to have some extra money.

I would not have her do too much, and would only have her here maybe four evenings a week. I will even feed her dinner.

I think that her schedule would look something like this:

  • Come in and start a load of wash.
  • Give the bathroom a good cleaning.
  • Vacuum and sweep.
  • Take out the trash.
  • Put clothes in dryer or hang outside, depending on the time of the year, and start another load of wash.
  • Pick up the kitchen and living room while I make dinner.
  • After eating, load the dishwasher and clean up after dinner.
  • Put wet clothes in dryer or hang out.
  • Run the dishwasher.
  • Straighten laundry area.

Nothing much, just the general cleaning. I won’t have her do the bedrooms or the pantry. Just what is necessary to make the house look nice. She will want to visit afterwards.

This will be very helpful. Three of the nights she will be here while her sister is here doing her mother’s helper duties. One evening it will just be her. So, I will be working three of those evenings, and I can spend some time with her and the children together the fourth evening.

P.S. Does anyone have any experience with teen housekeepers? If so, please let us know in the comments. Thank you.
