It is important to discuss what the single mother can be doing when her children are either in bed for the evening or gone. I have posts that talk about relaxing while your children are gone, but usually single mothers have things to that we must get done.
Here are some ideas for things to do when you are not chasing around little ones:
- Spend thirty minutes cleaning what you didn’t get to during the day.
- Be sure to go through all of those papers that your children brough home from school.
- Call a friend or write a letter.
- Read a good book.
- Work on your business if you earn money from home.
- Write out shopping lists.
- Update your calendar.
- Make up menus.
- You may want to schedule something different each evening. Marking activities on your calendar will help you to avoid forgetting to do important things.
And the list goes on and on. There is so much that a single mother has to do. We do not have the luxury of asking our husbands to help, we have to do many things on our own.
