Great Family Movies

Movie viewing is a great way to spend time together. As long as you regularly spend time hanging out with your children, and talking about important issues with them, it will not hurt to watch some movies with them.

I started my children and nephew out on the good movies when they were young, so they will pretty much watch anything with me when we all have time.

The following movies are great to watch, and they teach wonderful lessons.

  • Little House on the Prairies, old and new. All of the movies are good, as are the television episodes.
  • The Waltons, as well as the television episodes
  • Little Women
  • Little Men, as well as the television episode
  • Sarah, Plain and Tall, Skylark and Winters End
  • The Love Comes Softly series
  • Christy, as well as the television episodes

One of the reasons why I like these movies is because they do not show materialism. They also teach good family values, and show children how to work through their problems in positive ways. They also do not glorify and sex like other movies. They are appropriate for all ages.

These are all great family movies. If you know of any more, please post them here.
